KLM flight cancellation policy

According to the KLM flight cancellation policy, you may cancel your KLM flight and receive a full refund (without paying a penalty for the cancellation or an administrative charge) in the following circumstances:

  • If you booked your airfare online using KLM’s U.S. website, you cancelled it within 24 hours after purchasing it. All ticket categories fall under this.
  • When your flight was cancelled, you opted not to take the next available flight.
  • If KLM reschedules your flight, you are unhappy with the new date.
  • You have the option to choose a refund within the terms of your ticket (you have a completely flexible ticket for any class of transportation).

Your trip to Paris was cancelled since it was more than 90 minutes late, and your other flights were scheduled for the same day.

  • You cancelled an international flight that was more than three hours late.
  • A traveller in your reservation passed away.
  • You received a visa denial.
  • Despite having a verified ticket, you were refused boarding.

Your booking confirmation email will include information on the terms and circumstances for cancelling your KLM airline ticket. Using My Travel, you may also get to them online.

Note. To cancel and receive a refund if you bought your ticket through a third party, such as a travel agency or website, get in touch with them directly.

KLM’s Cancellation Policy within 24 hours

All flights to/from the United States are subject to KLM’s 24-hour cancellation policy. This complies with the rules set out by the U.S. Department of Transportation for all flights to or from the United States.

 According to this policy, you are entitled to a full refund if you:

Book a flight to/from the United States, and

1. Make a reservation on KLM.us; 

2. Cancel it within 24 hours; and 

3. Request a refund.

You must send an email to refund.northamerica@klm.com to get your refund.

Mention the Customer First Program in the email’s subject line and provide your name, flight number, departure date, and reservation number.

How to Cancel a Flight on KLM

• To Cancel a flight that was directly booked through the KLM website, app, or ticket office, submit a refund request online. All of the flights in your booking will be cancelled as a result.

• To cancel a flight purchased through a travel agent, get in touch with them directly.
